Our Dogs Our dogs are the focus of Wapusk Adventures. We strive to offer the best life possible for our working and racing dogs. They make this amazing nature experience possible for us and we want to show our appreciation. Our kennel is situated just inside the treeline, allowing for shelter from the northern arctic winds (we apply bug spray in the summer...). Each dog has its own little house complete with straw - shipped in from southern Manitoba! We use the high quality, high protein dog food and quality racing harnesses and sleds. Most importantly, we spend quality time with each and every one of our crew! Here is a quick introduction to some of Wapusk's characters... when you get here you can meet the rest of them!!! |

Wapusk Adventures is more Smoke's kennel than Dave's, according to Smoke anyways. Smoke is Dave's main lead dog and they have run several Hudson Bay Quests together. He is the top dog at Wapusk and knows it. Smoke is a real character with lots of attitude and lots of passion for running. |

Little One is one of our main lead dogs, very quiet and down-to-business. She has run the Hudson Bay Quest and is the mother of many of Wapusk's favourite dogs. |

Ice is part of Dave's racing team and one of Wapusk's most reliable dogs, a cool customer usually running in 'team' position. His parents were Smoke and Little One so he has a lot of 'drive' in him. He lives beside and often runs with his brother, Scruffy. |

Scruffy is, well, Scruffy. One of Wapusk's most personable dogs, he gets a bit of 'attitude' from his father, Smoke, and while he is lots of fun, occasionally gets on his neighbour and brother Ice's nerves. Boys will be boys is the best way to describe Scruffy. |

Blue came to Wapusk last year from John Hicke's kennel at Rankin Inlet. He is a long-legged dog with a lot of power and drive. He is a good running partner with his brother, Kudluk. |
Kudluk, pronounced 'koodlook', is an energetic character and a born distance racing dog. His long-strides and eager personality are a good combination out on the trail. |
